DSS’s Scientists Participated Training on Safety Testing for Food Packaging at Japan Food Research Laboratories, Japan.

Three scientists from Department of Science Service (DSS) consisting of Mr. Chinawat Tongchat, Ms. Pawarisa Srisuay and Ms. Passorn Pongsaeve participated in the training “Safety Testing of Food Packaging” during 4 – 6 June 2024 at Japan Food Research Laboratories, Tokyo, Japan. The training aimed to provide the analytical methods for safety testing of food packaging according to Japanese regulation including Vinylidene Chloride in Polyvinylidene Chloride (PVDC) and migrations of Methyl methacrylate from Polymethyl Methacrylate (PMMA) and Caprolactam from Polyamide (PA). This training is very useful to enhance the capacity building of laboratory testing of DSS in order to support Thai exporters for monitoring and controlling food packaging quality in compliance with the standards of trading country.
